Mr. Wayne Foo has over 30 years of experience in exploration and production of oil and gas, with the last 20 years in executive roles in companies ranging from start-ups to senior independents producers. He retired in May 2017 as the CEO of Parex Resources Inc, a position he held since November 2015. Mr. Foo served as Parex' President and CEO from 2009 to 2015. From 2003 to 2009, he was a founder and later President and CEO of Parex’ predecessor, Petro Andina Resources Inc. Petro Andina grew exclusively through the drill bit to operate 30,000 barrels of oil per day in Argentina, where the company recognized, explored and developed a new heavy oil trend that comprised a significant extension to the Neuquén Basin.
Mr. Foo has served on the Boards of Directors of publicly traded, private and not-for-profit organizations. He is currently a director of Pengrowth Energy Corporation where he is Chairman of the Reserves, Operations, Health, Safety and Environment Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology degree from the University of Calgary and a Masters of Science in Geology from Queen’s University. Mr. Foo is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists. In 2014 Mr. Foo was the recipient of the Stanley Slipper Gold Medal from the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists which is presented annually for outstanding contributions to oil and gas exploration in Canada, and in 2003 he received the President’s Award for outstanding contributions to the Society.
Mr. Bartlett is a Co-founder and Partner at Lorem Partners. He has over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and manager, private equity investor and investment banker. He is a director of several private companies.
Mr. Bartlett obtained the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, having completed the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program.
Currently a Director of Parkland Fuel Corporation, an independent marketer of fuels across Canada, and Detour Gold Corporation. Ms. Colnett brings over 20 years of experience in Human Resources for a variety of industries ranging from mining to information technology.
Since 1991, Ms. Colnett has held senior roles in human resources, information technology and strategy including Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Celestica Inc., Senior Vice President, Human Resources, also of Celestica Inc. and Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Services, of Kinross Gold Corporation. She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors having completed the Directors Education Program.
Mr. Engbloom is a deputy chair of the law firm of Norton Rose LLP and practises primarily Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities law. His practise involves providing advice on a range of issues; however, particular emphasis is placed upon governance matters, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and related party transactions. Mr. Engbloom also has extensive experience on a broad range of corporate finance matters in a variety of public and private financing matters, nationally and internationally. He is a corporate secretary or director of a number of public and private corporations.
Mr. MacDougall is a professional engineer with close to 30 years of domestic and international oil and gas operations and senior executive management experience. He was appointed to Parex Resources Board of Directors in October 2016; he is also a director of TransGlobe where he acts as Chairman of the Reserves, Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility Committee.
Mr. MacDougal served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Vermilion Energy from 2004 until his retirement in 2012 where he led the company’s operating business both domestically in Western Canada and internationally, with assets in France, The Netherlands, Australia, and Ireland. Prior to joining Vermilion, he spent nearly 20 years with Chevron in production and drilling operations and served as General Manager of Production and Operations for ChevronTexaco’s Western Canadian producing properties.
Mr. MacDougall has an Engineering Diploma from Saint Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with distinction) from Technical University of Nova Scotia and currently resides in High River, Alberta.
Mr. McNamara is a Professional Engineer with more than 35 years of oil and gas exploration and production experience in progressively more senior roles in Canada and across a variety of international regions, including South America, the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. He has extensive commercial and operational experience within both large organizations and smaller entrepreneurial environments.
Mr. McNamara currently serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Royalty Corporation, of which he is also a director. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Whitecap Resources Inc. and his previous board membership experience includes Petromanas Energy Inc. and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Miller is a Chartered Accountant and a founding Managing Director of Lorem Partners, a private equity firm focused on the energy sector. He has extensive transactional experience specifically related to the energy sector for both privately held and publicly traded companies. He has valued, structured, and negotiated acquisitions, dispositions, and financings as both a financial advisor and an investor. Mr. Miller is a director of several private energy companies.
Currently strategic advisor to the QG100 business network. Ms. Sylvain was a career Canadian diplomat and public servant with over 30 years of combined experience in foreign affairs, international trade and investment as well as major event management. She was Ambassador to Colombia, Morocco, and Mauritania. Ms. Sylvain also served in Global Affairs Canada as Assistant Deputy Minister for Strategic Planning and Policy where she led the development of a Foreign Policy Plan for Canada. As Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, she was involved in the process leading to the Canada EU Comprehensive Trade Agreement. Prior to working at Global Affairs Canada, Ms. Sylvain led the development of Canada's participation in World Fairs and served 8 years as President of the Executive Commission of the Bureau of International Exhibitions.
In the private sector, Ms. Sylvain was a strategic advisor to Borealis Infrastructure and the OMERS pension fund and currently serves as Executive Board member of the Canada Arab Business Council. She previously served as advisory board member to the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and board member to the Centre for International Governance and Innovation. Ms. Sylvain received her Bachelor of Arts in European History from San Jose State University and completed a Masters of Public Administration at Carleton University
Mr. Taylor is responsible for creating, planning, implementing and integrating the strategic direction of Parex. His geologically driven, business-minded focus on exploration, production and business development activities has been successfully applied in prior companies over his 35 year career. From 2015 to 2017, he served as President of Parex Resources Inc. and Executive Vice President, Exploration & Business Development from 2009 to 2015. Mr. Taylor was Vice President, Business Development of Petro Andina Resources from 2007 to 2009 and led Petro Andina’s entry into Colombia. Formerly Vice President, Exploration and International Operations with Husky Energy, Mr. Taylor directed its global oil and gas exploration efforts which focused in Western Canada, the Canadian Frontiers and Southeast Asia, and he also provided oversight for international production and development operations. Prior to his position with Husky Energy, Mr. Taylor served as Vice President, Exploration for Renaissance Energy where he focused on high-impact natural gas plays in the Foothills, Deep Basin and northeast British Columbia regions. He has also held various management, business development and senior technical positions with Chauvco Resources, Imperial Oil Resources and Exxon Production Research in Houston, TX.
Mr. Taylor graduated from McMaster University with a Master of Science (Geology) in 1981 and holds a Bachelor degree in Geology from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is a former Director of Geoscience BC.
Mr. Wright is a Chartered Accountant with over 35 years of industry experience. He has worked in senior financial roles in both domestic and international oil and gas companies. He currently works as a financial consultant and sits on the board of one non profit organization.
